Chris Stapleton‘s From A Room: Vol. 1 rises again to the No. 1 slot on Nielsen Soundscan’s Country Albums rankings after spending last week at No. 2. The album sold 42K this week. Rascal Flatts‘ new project, Back To Us, debuts at No. 2, with 25K (album only) sold this week.

Zac Brown Band’s latest, Welcome Home, slides from No. 1 to the No. 3 spot this week, with 23K sold.

In the fourth spot this week is Stapleton’s Traveller, which moved 11K this week, upping the album’s tally to 1.9 million RTD.

Keith Urban‘s Ripcord rounds out this week’s Top 5 with 5.5K.

On the country digital tracks rankings, The Voice Contestant Lauren Duski unseats Sam Hunt‘s”Body Like A Back Road” from the No. 1 spot, as her original song “Deja Vu” moves 86K this week. Duski also debuts a new track, her rendition of Garth Brooks’ “The Dance” landing at No. 4 with 37K sold.

Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road” moves to No. 2, with 52.5K. Brett Young‘s “In Case You Didn’t Know” lands at No. 3, with 46.1K.

Lee Brice‘s “The Boy” debuts at No. 5, moving 24K.

Dierks Bentley Celebrates Multiple RIAA Certifications

Kicking off the new leg of his What The Hell tour at the Merriweather Post Pavilion (Columbia, Maryland) on Friday night (May 19), Dierks Bentley was also presented with several RIAA certifications. His album Black was recognized as being gold-certified by the Recording Industry Association of America. Additionally, Bentley’s songs “Somewhere On A Beach” and “Different For Girls” were both recognized for platinum sales, while his latest single, “Black,” was recognized as being gold-certified.

Brett Young Earns Two Gold Certification Plaques

Big Machine Label Group President/CEO Scott Borchetta and BMLG EVP and BMLG Records President Jimmy Harnen presented Brett Young with his double gold certification plaque today for his first two singles “Sleep Without You” and “In Case You Didn’t Know.” “Sleep Without You” already hit No. 1 on Country radio and “In Case You Didn’t Know” is on its way. Though Young only recently received the gold-certification plaque for “In Case You Didn’t Know,” it was announced today (May 24) that the song has actually earned platinum sales.

Weekly Register: Zac Brown Band Gets Warm ‘Welcome’ With Chart-Topping Debut

Zac Brown Band‘s latest album Welcome Home (Southern Ground/Elektra) debuts atop this week’s country albums rankings at Nielsen Soundscan, with 139K sold. This marks the band’s fourth consecutive chart-topping country album.

Chris Stapleton takes the second and third spots on the country albums ranking, with From A Room, Vol. 1 slipping from the top spot to No. 2 with 66K, while its predecessor Traveller moved 13K this week, slipping from No. 2 to No. 3.

Keith Urban‘s Ripcord is at No. 4 with 7.7K, while Willie Nelson‘s God’s Problem Child moved 7.5K to land at No. 5.

Fellow Nashville rock band Paramore lands at No. 6 on the overall digital album chart with After Laughter, which moved 67K (53K album only).

On the Top Country Digital Tracks, Sam Hunt‘s “Body Like A Back Road” remains atop the heap, selling 47K. The track is now at 952K sold to date.

The Voice contestant Lauren Duski debuts at No. 2 with a rendition of Shenandoah‘s “Ghost In This House,” selling 37K.

Brett Young‘s “In Case You Didn’t Know” moved 30K this week to land at No. 3, followed by Luke Combs‘ “Hurricane” at No. 4 with 23K. Rounding out the Top 5 this week is Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood‘s “The Fighter” with 21K.

Trisha Yearwood has teamed with 7UP to create new recipes featuring the popular drink, including 7UP Fizzy Lime Margarita, 7UP Teriyaki Chicken Skewers, 7UP BBQ Pulled Chicken Sliders and 7UP Cherry Cake with Sour Cream Frosting. The recipes can be found on 12-packs of Regular, Cherry and Diet 7UP.

“Growing up in Georgia, I loved to watch my mother cook and learning her secrets. Now I have some secrets of my own – like using 7UP to make a marinade or in a cake. It can be used as an unexpectedly versatile ingredient,” said Yearwood. “Then, of course, it’s a perfect beverage as a mixer for cocktails.”

Chris Janson has teamed with Waffle House and TouchTunes. Janson stepped out of the studio for a mid-morning stop at his local Waffle House recently, with his brand new single and summer anthem “Fix a Drink” (impacting radio May 22) playing throughout the restaurant.

The celebration supported a sweepstakes hosted by Waffle House and TouchTunes, an in-venue interactive music platform with digital jukeboxes available in every Waffle House nationwide. Winners of the sweepstakes will enjoy an all-expense paid trip to Nashville during the annual CMA Music Festival, including tickets to fan events and a special meet-and-greet with Janson.

Weekly Register: Chris Stapleton Takes Top Two Spots On Country Albums Chart

Chris Stapleton reigns atop this week’s country albums chart, taking the top two spots. His latest album, From A Room: Vol. 1, debuts atop the chart with 202K. Its predecessor Traveller, which released on May 5, 2015, is at No. 2, with 15K. That puts Traveller at 1.931 million in album-only sales to date.

Last week’s No. 1 album, God’s Problem Child from Willie Nelson, lands at No. 3 this week, with 9.8K units sold this week, for 44K sales to date. Colt Ford‘s Love Hope Faith debuts at No. 4 with 9.6K, while Keith Urban‘s Ripcord rounds out the Top 5 with 7.4K this week.

On the digital country tracks rankings, Sam Hunt‘s “Body Like A Back Road” is again at No. 1, with 48K sold this week. That puts “Body Like A Back Road” at 905K in sales to date. Brett Young‘s “In Case You Didn’t Know” is at 30K (530K to date).

Stapleton’s new single “Either Way” is at No. 3, with 23K, followed by Luke Combs‘ “Hurricane” at No. 4, with 22K. Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood‘s “The Fighter” rounds out the Top 5 with 21K.

Other top debuts this week include Scotty McCreery‘s “Five More Minutes” at No. 6 (20K), and Zac Brown Band‘s “Roots” at No. 10 (11K).

Weekly Register: Willie Nelson Debuts At No. 1 With ‘God’s Problem Child’

Willie Nelson‘s new album, God’s Problem Child, debuted atop the country albums chart this week, moving 36K, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The album is Nelson’s ninth for Sony/Legacy Recordings, and marks his second country album chart-topping album in less than two years, following Django and Jimmie, his 2015 collaboration project with Merle Haggard. God’s Problem Child also entered the Top 200 at No. 10.

Following Nelson is Brad Paisley‘s Love And War at No. 2, with 10K, and Keith Urban‘s Ripcord at No. 3 with 9.1K.

While Chris Stapleton‘s latest album From A Room: Vol. 1 will make its chart debut next week, his Traveller album remains in the Top 5 this week, with 7.7K. That puts Traveller at 1.915 million units sold (album only) and the album has been on the country album rankings for 104 weeks.

Old Crow Medicine Show‘s 50 Years of Blonde On Blonde debuts at No. 5 this week, with 6.3K. It also tops this week’s Bluegrass album chart.

Also debuting this week was John Mellencamp‘s Sad Clowns and Hillbillies, which topped the Americana chart with 35K.

 

 

 

On the country digital tracks rankings, Sam Hunt‘s “Body Like A Back Road” continues in the top spot, with 51K sold this week, for 856K to date.

Brett Young‘s “In Case You Didn’t Know” is at No. 2, with 30K, followed by Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood‘s “The Fighter” at No. 3, with 24K. Luke Combs‘ “Hurricane” is at No. 4, with 23K, and The Voice contestant Lauren Duski has this week’s top debut, with her rendition of Billy Dean’s “Somewhere In My Broken Heart” moving 19K to land at No. 5.

Overall, digital tracks are down 24.7 percent, while country digital tracks are down 22.8 percent.

Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban Get RIAA Heavy Metal

Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley are among the artists earning sales honors for April 2o17.

As previously announced, Urban’s Ripcord album, released in 2016, has gone platinum. In April, he saw platinum album certifications for three additional albums, as well as a gold certification for Ripcord.

Meanwhile, Bentley saw two singles certifications from his latest album Black. “Different For Girls,” featuring Elle King, earned platinum sales, while Black‘s title track went gold.

Brett Eldredge, Brett Young, and Luke Combs also saw sales certifications for the month of April 2017.

Brad Paisley debuts in the No. 1 spot on the Nielsen Soundscan country album rankings this week, with Love and War moving 26K.

Keith Urban‘s Ripcord lands at No. 2 this week, with 8.1K, while Chris Stapleton‘s Traveller lands at No. 3 with 7.2K.

This week’s top debut is Taylor Ray Holbrook, whose Backroads EP lands at No. 4 with 5.5K. Other debuts include Jimmy Fortune‘s Jimmy Fortune: Sings The Classics at No. 25 (1.6K), and Charlie Worsham‘s Beginning of Things at No. 29, with 1.5K.

Miranda Lambert rounds out the Top 5 this week, with The Weight Of These Wings selling 4.9K.

This week’s top country debut comes from The Voice contestant Brennley Brown‘s cover of Linda Ronstadt’s “Long Long Time,” landing at No. 7 country and selling 15K.

Digital country track sales are down 22.7 percent year to date, while overall digital track sales are down 24.7 percent.

Jackie Campbell Exits Big Machine, Launches Brand Strategy Startup

Jackie Campbell, who most recently served as Director of Partnership Marketing for the Big Machine Label Group for nearly six years, has launched a new brand strategy start-up called 615 Leverage. The new company is focused on strategically connecting brands with Nashville’s rapidly expanding and diverse community of music and artists.

“There comes a point when you are ready for the next phase of the adventure called ‘life in the music industry,’ and for me, that time is now,” Campbell says. “Opening up my own venture is something I’ve dreamt of for quite some time. I love what I do and I want to be able to help companies and artists realize their business goals and design mutually beneficial strategies to achieve those goals through marketing and partnerships. I am so grateful to Scott Borchetta and the entire team at Big Machine for their support and encouragement as I pursue this next step in my career.”

Prior to Big Machine, Campbell spent almost 10 years working for CBS Radio in Chicago. As manager of Integrated Programs and Event Marketing, she spearheaded the business development strategies for WUSN, while also working closely with the chain’s five other local stations.

Rising Stars Brett Young, Luke Combs Earn RIAA Gold

Brett Young is celebrating two RIAA Gold certifications, earned by the first two singles from his debut album: the No. 1 hits “Sleep Without You” and “In Case You Didn’t Know.” The latter is sitting at the top of MusicRow’s CountryBreakout Chart today.

The BMLG artist is on the road with Justin Moore and Lee Brice, and will soon head to Canada to open for Thomas Rhett before spending the summer on tour with Lady Antebellum.

Luke Combs’ debut single “Hurricane” has been certified Gold by the RIAA. Continuing its meteoric rise, the single peaked at No. 1 on MusicRow’s CountryBreakout chart and continues to rise on the major-market charts. It is No. 2 on the country streaming charts this week with over 74 million streams.

Combs’ debut album This One’s For You will be released June 2 on River House Artists/Columbia Nashville. The project features twelve tracks co-written by Combs. Fans who pre-order it will immediately receive five tracks: “Hurricane,” “Out There,” “Memories Are Made Of,” “Beer Can,” and “This One’s For You.” On May 19, previously unreleased track “One Number Away” will also be available as part of the pre-order.

Combs has played over 110 sold-out headlining shows, and continues on the Devil Don’t Sleep Tour with Brantley Gilbert through September.
