Mercury Recording artist Billy Currington celebrated Platinum certification of his sophomore release, Doin' Somethin' Right recently with a party at Radius 10. He was also presented a Platinum digital single plaque and the first ever UMG Nashville Gold Mastertone plaque for "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right."

Fans attending CMA Music Festival this year helped raise $15,000 for Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. On June 7, 8 and 9, several of Nashville’s finest tunesmiths performed benefit concerts at the Hard Rock Writers Nights. Lending a hand were songwriters Brett James (“Jesus Take the Wheel”), Carolyn Dawn Johnson (“Single White Female”), Rivers Rutherford (“When I Get Where I’m Going”), Marv Green (“Let’s Make Love”) and The Hitmen of Music Row—Tony Mullins (“Me & My Gang”), Bob DiPiero (“If You Ever Stop Loving Me”), Craig Wiseman (“Live Like You Were Dying”) and Jeffrey Steele (“These Days”).

Emerson Drive celebrated their first No. 1 single, “Moments,” during CMA Music Fest week and had the pleasure of performing it at the Grand Ole Opry. They were honored to meet the legendary Porter Wagoner and congratulate him on his 50th year as an Opry member.

John McEuen, a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, celebrated an early Father's Day with sons Nathan and Jonathan. They performed as The McEuen 3 at 3rd & Lindsley on June 12, singing NGDB songs as well as highlighting solo performances by Jonathan (formerly of Hanna-McEuen) and Nathan. Ryan Murphy, son of Michael Martin Murphy, also jumped on stage mid-show to join them.

As the new spokesperson for Horses for Healing (HFH) in Bentonville, Arkansas, country music artist Trent Willmon helped raise over $150,000 for the organization when he headlined its annual Barn Dance benefit on June 9. $1000 was also donated during his first fan club party, held during CMA Music Festival. HFH is a nonprofit organization which uses therapeutic horseback riding to help special needs children.
