Sugarland and Rascal Flatts are among the performers scheduled for the Nov. 18 American Music Awards. Presenting awards at the 35th annual event are Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler, Carrie Underwood, and Miley Cyrus. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the show will be broadcast live (7-10 PM/CT) from the NOKIA Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Also scheduled is an appearance by Beyonce and performances by Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion, Daughtry, Fergie, and Maroon 5.

Capitol Records Nashville artist Chris Cagle celebrated his birthday on Saturday (11/10) with a sold-out crowd at Nashville's famed Wildhorse Saloon. His label, management and booking agency came onstage mid-show to present Cagle with a birthday cake. The first single from Cagle's upcoming studio album, "What Kinda Gone," is currently climbing the country singles charts; the new album is due in early 2008.

Rounder Records duo Dailey & Vincent joined former Statler Brother Jimmy Fortune for a special performance of "More Than a Name on a Wall" during a ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC on Nov. 7. The opening ceremony began the four-day reading of the 58,256 names on The Wall. Dailey, Vincent and Fortune were also honored to take part in the reading of the names. Dailey & Vincent recorded "More Than a Name on a Wall," written by Fortune, for their upcoming Rounder debut.

Big Machine's Taylor Swift was in Denver recently for two sold-out shows and visited KYGO contest winners Regis Jesuit High School. The students collected $4,590 in pennies for the Denver Rescue Mission, which received a donation of $10,000. Swift gave a 1,000,000 of her own pennies, for a contribution of $10,000.

Wal-Mart Stores, U.S. today announced that the Eagles’ Long Road Out of Eden—released Oct. 30 exclusively at Wal-Mart, Sam’s Clubs and the related Web sites—has sold more than 700,000 units in its first week of release. This represents the largest first week sales of any music product at Wal-Mart in the last two years. The two disc set of 20 new songs is available in store for $11.88 or $10.88 in downloadable MP3 format online.
