Prior to his sold-out performance at the Fox Theater in Bakersfield, Calif., Vince Gill visited radio station KUZZ where program director Evan Bridwell presented him with a guitar from the late Buck Owens. In 1991, Owens had presented Gill with one of his signature red, white and blue acoustic guitars. After Owens' death earlier this year, his family found one of the rare 1964 Gibson models that Buck gave to very few people. The guitar's gold plaque read, "To Vince Gill, I finally got it right! A fan, Buck Owens. March 5, 1992.” Friends believe that after Owens saw Gill play guitar, he planned to give him a finer model. Pictured (L-R): Bridwell, Gill, and Jim Shaw of the Buckaroos.
