Sony BMG Artists Perform at CMA

Sony BMG Nashville artists Jason Michael Carroll, Ashley Monroe and Chris Young recently performed for the CMA staff and went through CMA Artist Orientation. Carroll’s debut single, “Alyssa Lies,” is featured on his debut album Waitin’ In The Country, set to release Feb. 6. Monroe recently completed work on her debut album Satisfied, due out in summer 2007. Young, last year’s Nashville Star winner, released his self-titled debut last October. ACM Noms. Coming In March

Nominations for the 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be revealed the morning of Monday, March 5. Making the announcement will be reigning and back-to-back ACM Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chesney, along with tourmates Sugarland and Pat Green. CBS’ The Early Show, and anchor Hannah Storm, will carry the nominations announcement live from Nashville at the Ford Theater in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

SESAC recently hosted a release party for the new CD by songwriter/musician Jerry Salley. New Songs, Old Friends was released in January and features musical accompaniment by a host of artists including Vince Gill, Del McCoury, Darryl Worley, the Oak Ridge Boys, Carl Jackson and Jamie Johnson of The Grascals. Pareigis Leaves Columbia Nashville

Music Row has confirmed the departure of Columbia Nashville Sr. VP Promotion Larry Pareigis. A replacement has yet to be named and no further details are available at this time.

Moran Named Newest Show Dog

Show Dog Nashville has hired Tom Moran as VP of Promotion. He was most recently VP of Promotion at Epic Nashville and prior to that he held posts at Columbia Nashville, Warner Bros. Nashville, and other labels. The announcement was made by label GM, George Nunes. Moran said, "I'm very excited to be joining Toby Keith and his great Show Dog team. I've known and admired Toby for many years but the deciding factor for me was the music.” He also expressed excitement about working with emerging Show Dog acts Flynnville Train, Carter's Chord, Rushlow Harris and Lindsey Haun.
