Just recently a mom for the third time, Sara Evans is a firm believer that you can have it all. “I believe I was born to sing AND have a family,” says the Missouri-born singer. “I really have the best of both worlds.”
Evans hit the scene as a hard-core traditionalist whose Three Chords & The Truth album ended up on many Best Of lists, but failed to generate significant heat at radio. She followed-up with the Gold selling No Place That Far. But Evans credits her teaming with Paul Worley for kicking her career into high gear.
“I thought, ‘This is my make-it-or-break-it record,” she says of Born To Fly. “I have GOT to recruit somebody to help me hone in on who I am as an artist. Because I know I can write songs; I know I can sing; I know I can perform.’ That’s when I called Paul Worley. And he totally understood.”
The title track hit number one in 2000 and was followed up by three more radio hits (“I Could Not Ask For More,” “Saints and Angels,” “I Keep Looking”).
Evans’ career shows no signs of slowing down with her latest effort Restless yielding two radio winners in “Backseat Of A Greyhound Bus” and the chart-topping “Suds In The Bucket.”
