In 1999, the rowdy, fun loving Montgomery Gentry struck a chord with country fans everywhere as “Hillbilly Shoes” hit the airwaves. The single helped propel their Columbia Records debut Tattoos & Scars to platinum heights. The follow-up, Carrying On, has already been certified gold, and the two hope to continue their winning ways this summer with the release of My Town, which hits shelves Aug. 27. As for their career goals, Eddie Montgomery explains, “The main thing is, 20 years from now, we’d like to walk into a honky-tonk, and see a bunch of guys up on stage playing, and doing one of our songs. That’s
when you know you’ve done something.”
