An impressive group of panelists will participate in the upcoming “Music in the Movies" luncheon, an annual part of the Nashville Screenwriters Conference. Scheduled for noon on Sat., May 31 at the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Ford Theatre, the event will offer advice on getting music placed in films and TV, as well as provide the opportunity to submit songs for placement in seven upcoming movies. Hosted by Music Supervisor Anastasia Brown, this year’s panelists include Music Supervisor Julia Michels (Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada); New Line Cinema’s Music Executive Erin Scully (Sex and the City, The Notebook); Music Supervisor Julianne Jordan (Fool’s Gold, The Italian Job); Disney’s Music Executive Kaylin Frank (Man on the Moon, Sliding Doors) and Music Supervisor Howard Parr (Miss Match, Party Monster). A limited number of luncheon tickets are available a la carte for $40 at www.nashscreen.com. Past NSC music luncheon attendees have secured placement as a direct result, including Steve Diamond’s song in Santa Claus 2, and Lucas Reynolds’ song in August Rush.

The Tenth Annual Nashville Screenwriters Conference (NSC) runs May 30- June 1 at the Union Station Hotel. The open-to-the-public event brings Hollywood’s top writers to Nashville, providing aspiring screenwriters and individuals interested in film and TV the chance to network and learn. Included this year is an advance screening of the HBO Films miniseries
Generation Kill, with an accompanying music performance and panel discussion. NSC will also welcome writers and producers from ABC’s hit show, Grey’s Anatomy, and films such as Minority Report, Ocean's Eleven, and School of Rock. Discounted NSC registration runs through May 29. www.nashscreen.com.
