Carly Goodwin (R) and her band flew to Hartford, CT to support Boundless Playgrounds, an organization that creates playgrounds where any child can play. Boundless celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a gala that included a silent auction and performances by Goodwin and Bob Newhart (back). The event raised over $250,000.

Songwriter Jeffrey Steele and his wife have established the Alex LeVasseur Memorial Fund as a tribute to their 13-year-old son who passed away earlier this year. The first Alex LeVasseur Fund Festival will be held Sunday, June 24, from 1-9:30 p.m. at Jim Warren Park in Franklin, Tenn. There will be live music by local acts as well as Steele at 7:30 p.m., a rock wall, skate demonstrations, and giveaways including a Tony Hawk autographed skateboard. All proceeds will benefit the Fund, a part of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, and its scholarship program to send kids to skate camps. The festival is free and open to all. Songwriter Thom Shepherd’s father passed away yesterday, June 13, at home. He had an inoperable brain tumor. Arrangements for Thom Shepherd, Sr. are by Omps Funeral Home in Winchester, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, Virginia.
