The American Red Cross’s sixth annual National Celebrity Cabinet includes twenty new members such as Kellie Pickler, Brooks & Dunn, Pat Green, and Forest Whitaker. The 2007 cabinet also includes alumni such as Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans, Amy Grant, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Heidi Klum. These cabinet members will work to promote awareness of the Red Cross services by taping public service announcements, as well as making monetary and time donations.
Ringside—A Fight For Kids, will take place March 16 at The Factory At Franklin (230 Franklin Road, Franklin, Tenn.). The black-tie charity event will be hosted by Warner Bros. recording artist Shannon Brown and will feature live entertainment and gourmet dinner in addition to three bouts of professional boxing. All proceeds will be distributed by the Charley Foundation to the Make-A-Wish ® Foundation of Middle Tennessee and The Center For Courageous Kids. The Music Row To Capitol Hill Golf Tournament, benefiting the Legislative Fund of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), will be held March 26-27 at GreyStone Golf Course in Dickson, Tenn. The event will also feature a silent auction of industry memorabilia from artists such as Alabama, Jimmy Buffett, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, and many more, as well as a special acoustic concert from Mac Davis ("Baby Don't Get Hooked On Me," "In The Ghetto"). Michael Martin Murphey and Ryan Murphey will play a benefit for the Fiona Rose Foundation 6-8 p.m. Sat., March 10 at 12th & Porter in Nashville. Seven-year-old Fiona Rose Murphey is Ryan's daughter and Michael's granddaughter.
