Save The GMA Raises $350,000

The Gospel Music Association’s star-studded Save The GMA concert raised over $350,000 last week for the struggling organization. Billed as the Concert of the Decade, performers at the Loveless Barn included the genre’s most-loved figures: Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns, MercyMe, Kirk Franklin, Point of Grace, Jason Crabb, Martha Munizzi, the Fisk Jubilee Singers, Natalie Grant, Bernie Herms and the Booth Brothers.

More than 350 people turned out for the dinner and show to benefit the trade group. The event also drew a good deal of sponsorship support, including Godbeat.com, HearItFirst.com, and 316Networks.com, which hosted a live web broadcast of the show that drew almost 10,000 viewers, making it one of the largest Christian concerts ever streamed.

All the artists and event producers donated their time and expenses, and purchased tickets for the evening. Dove Award winner Brown Bannister headed up production. The GMA Board of Directors is chaired by Ed Leonard, president of Daywind Music.
